Light The Way

Soldiers of Fort Stewart were reportedly struck by lightning on September 5th. 19 of the 23 were treated and released, while the 4 were held at the base hospital called Winn Army Community Hospital and were held for observation. None of them were threatened by any serious injuries.
The soldiers were caught by surprise when the lightning suddenly struck while 2 combat groups were out training during the late afternoon. The 2 small groups were training close to their base tactical station when the lightning struck. None of the soldiers were reported to be unconscious or seriously hurt. The storm was reportedly traveling through the area, close to Savannah when it struck.
