THE WHALES ARE COMING!

According to Greenland Institute Of Natural Resorces, Greenland will be getting a visit from a bunch of Bowhead whales! For the first time in 10,000 years! How do we know its been THAT long?! Well, Last year whales from both oceans entered the passage to reach an area called "Viscount Melville Sound" and bones were found on the beaches in the region that the last time the whales were here was around 10,000 years ago! Woah! We previously thought that the sea ice in the Northwest passage was too impossible, Even for bowhead whales, which are known for their ability to navigate Ice-bound seas! This could cause implacations of North Atlantic fishing stocks! Earlier this year, researchers spotted a Gray whale on the coast of Spain and Israel which was believed the whale got there through the Northwest passage also! Climate change causes melting ice, which causes the whales to get through, then they eat all the fishes!

The Northwest passage is a passage between the North Atlantic ocean to the North Pacific ocean above Canada, in which its

known for being all ice year round. Until 2009 regular marine shipping was impossible for most of the year. Bowhead whales are

also the longest living mammal and also have the biggest mouth. Bowhead whales have a population of 24,900 worldwide! They

only in Arctic and sub-Acritc waters.

I think its actually really cool, I know it will cause a lot of stress on people in the fish industries, But i dont eat fish so it doesnt bother me!
